Victoria Davies and James Turnbull are supported by the
Countess of Munster Musical Trust
Victoria studied the harp at the Royal College ofMusic
Junior Department and at the Royal Academy of Music. She read
music at Christ Church, Oxford, where she was an Academic
Scholar and Instrumental Exhibitioner.
She was winner of the London Harp Competition in 1999 and
2001, and in 2002 was Principal Harp of the National Youth
Orchestra. She has performed live on the BBC Radio 3 programme
“In Tune” and on Howard Goodall's BBC Radio 2 programme. Future
engagements include recording Howard Goodall's Requiem and a
concert in St. John's, Smith Square.
James began playing oboe aged 7, before studying at the
Junior Guildhall School of Music and Drama and the Junior
Academy of Music. In 2005 he graduated with First Class Honours
in Music from Christchurch, Oxford.
As a soloist James has performed live on BBC Radio 3's “In
Tune” and on BBC Television's “Songs of Praise” and currently
freelances with orchestras abroad such as the Russian Chamber
Orchestra of St. Petersburg and PolyphonieT in Germany.
